Untreated pets are at risk of flea infestations. Adult fleas bite your dog, cat or rabbit, causing them discomfort; and potentially even more serious issues such as dermatitis and possibly anaemia. Fleas can also transmit diseases when they feed, and if a flea is swallowed when grooming, this can result in a tapeworm infection inside your pet. Adult fleas are only the tip of the iceberg; for every adult flea you can see, there are many more eggs, larvae and pupae hidden away in your home, waiting to develop, breed and spread. In fact, around 95% of any flea population exists in immature stages in your home – hidden away in your carpets, bedding and upholstery.
To help protect your pets and your home against fleas, use a regular flea treatment on your pet throughout the year. Advantage flea treatment for cats, dogs and rabbits is an effective and easy-to-apply spot-on treatment that is able to kill fleas on contact, fleas don’t have to bite your pet in order to be killed.1 Advantage gets to work quickly and continues to kill fleas, for up to three to four weeks for cats and dogs, and up to one week for rabbits.
